We often start giving our children foods that are rich in sugar at a very young age, not knowing the harm they can get. These foods affect the physiological functions of their bodies. Some foods increase the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, certain types of cancer, and other chronic illness. Here are some of the foods you shouldn’t give your beloved children.
Harmful foods you shouldn’t give your children
Honey is very nutritious. Many parents give it to their children as an alternative to cough syrups to dull the annoying symptoms of a cold. You should not give honey to children under the age of two years because it can cause infant botulism. Children above the age of two years develop bacteria in their intestines that act as a defense against harmful spores that cause infant botulism. Honey can also cause stomach aches and other allergies.
